To help you make the most of all our tools, today we’re going to talk about two of the most useful ones: teams and chat groups. While at first glance they may seem similar, they actually serve different functions and purposes.
Imagine you have a large furniture factory:
-
In teams, you would have the different departments of the factory (carpentry, upholstery, painting, etc.). Each with its own specialty and specific responsibility in the furniture-making process.
-
Chat groups are like the worktables within each department. That’s where workers gather to collaborate on specific tasks.
🛠️ Teams:
-
Organize users by specialty, area, location… or according to whatever structure is needed (carpenters, upholsterers, painters, etc.).
-
Allow some users to supervise and coordinate their department (e.g., head of carpentry, head of upholstery, etc.).
💬 Chat Groups:
-
Encourage communication and the exchange of ideas among users.
-
Allow problems to be solved quickly and efficiently, and decisions to be made collaboratively.
-
Are ideal for sharing relevant information and documents related to the project or task at hand.
Which one to choose?
It depends on your objective:
-
To organize and supervise: Use a team!
-
To communicate and collaborate: A chat group is perfect!
Example:
In the example above, you can clearly see that the factory “El Roble” has several sub-teams. Now let’s look at the chat groups associated with these teams:
As you can see, each team has its own group to talk about matters that concern them directly, but they also have three general groups where they can discuss topics relevant to everyone. That said, this is not the only possibility Ommnio offers.
Imagine there’s a new project that both the Carpentry and Design teams need to discuss. Well, the account administrator can create a group specifically for them to organize it.
Remember:
Choosing the right tool for each situation will help improve organization, communication, and collaboration within your company or organization. Let’s work as a team! 😉
